Grant Eligibility Criteria

The Etheridge Foundation assesses grants on a rolling basis, often with quarterly awards.

The size of our grants typically ranges from $10,000-$50,000, with occasional larger amounts.

We invite proposals for studies that meet all of the criteria below.

Grant eligibility requirements

Our grants support projects that align with our mission by including all of the following components:

1) Are medical studies by accredited institutions;

2) That use traditional plant medicines and/or psychedelic therapies;

3) For the treatment or prevention of opioid use disorder (OUD) and/or closely related conditions; and

4) Work with human participants, for ethical and relevant data (no animal experimentation).

All of these must be a substantive element of the study to be considered for a grant.

In addition, grants are prioritized to studies that:

  • Are directed by nonprofit organizations without motivation of financial gain;

  • Use integrative understandings of addiction that consider underlying causes and mental health issues.

At our discretion, we may occasionally award grants outside of the above criteria for novel projects that advance understanding of using plant medicines and/or psychedelic therapies for treatment of opioid use disorder.

**Please note that we unable to consider grants to fund films, shows, or other media projects.**

We invite team members of qualifying projects to submit our pre-application below or on Google Forms.
